We supply and maintain healthy hives of honeybees throughout the rental season. This includes one each deep and medium of brood and bees along with any medium honey supers they fill during the season.

Queen Replacement Included

Should the queen fail or swarm, we will replace her with a new queen. Our experienced beekeepers monitor hive health throughout the season to help maintain strong and productive colonies.

Fresh Honey Harvest

As a honey crop is made, typically varying from 40 to 100 plus pounds each season per hive, we will harvest and bottle the honey for you up to 50 pounds per hive. Additional surcharges may apply for larger harvests above 50 pounds per hive.

Custom Bottling Options

Custom packaging is also available for your bottled honey crop. This includes jar type and labeling options for gifts, businesses, or personal use. Contact us for pricing.

Our rental service includes the supply and maintenance of healthy honeybee hives throughout the active season. The typical bee hive rental season runs from May until mid-September, when the hives are moved back to our farm and eventually to Texas for winter.

Our experienced beekeepers will service the hives and harvest the honey crop in late summer. We handle hive maintenance, monitor colony health, and manage the logistics involved with keeping bees productive throughout the season.

You provide a location for the hives approved by Ames Farm. Our service extends to locations within a 20-mile radius around the Watertown or Delano area in Minnesota.

Permit Requirements

Obtain Any Required Permits

If required by your local government, you will need to obtain any necessary permits before hive installation. We are happy to discuss location requirements during the planning process.

Hive Maintenance

Seasonal Hive Maintenance

Throughout the season, our experienced beekeepers service and maintain the hives. We monitor colony health, replace queens if needed, and help ensure the hives remain healthy and productive.
