Honey Whiskey Grilling Marinade

This honey-infused marinade adds a wonderfully sweet and earthy tone to spare ribs, chicken, a big fillet of salmon and just about anything roast-worthy!

 

1/4 C all-purpose real raw honey

1/4 C whiskey

1/2 C soy sauce 

2 cloves mashed garlic

3 T grated fresh ginger

2 t freshly ground black pepper

1/2 t nutmeg

 

Here are our favorite ways to use this savory marinade, depending on the occasion:

  • Marinade 2 lbs pork shoulder overnight and cook in a slow cooker for 7 hours on the low setting. Pull apart and serve on sandwich buns with a little sriracha mayo and slaw.

  • Marinade a fillet of salmon for at least an hour and bake at 400° F for 15 minutes or until salmon flakes easily.

  • Marinade 2 lbs of pork spare ribs for an hour and grill on direct heat for 10 minutes, then turn to cook the other side for another 10-15 minutes.
